I think her father better get lots of sleep this summer because when she starts school this fall, the boys will come knocking and Dad may have some sleepless nights! And it gets worse for him… she has 3 younger sisters that are only getting older and more beautiful too!

Here’s something a little different from me. I had the opportunity to go  shooting with a few other photographers. It was a perfect overcast day, and the models were just great. I enjoyed it very much with the exception of the mosquitos over 20 bites!. (Do not attempt this coolness at home, these are professionals.)

Journey Fans?

Am I showing my age by being a fan? Doubt it. They are timeless I hope ! Journey is truly for Only the Young at heart! I like Journey but I have a friend (Deb) who LOVES  Journey. The Girl can’t Help it. If you see her, Send her my Love.

If you’re reading this, I am dedicating this post to you. While I am typing I am singing, swaying and holding a lighter in my left hand.  Be Good to yourself and Don’t stop Believin’ that they will come to Toronto again for some good old Canadian Loving, Touchin, Squeezin.

Perfect location, perfect time of day and the perfect subject.  What a great session! We got lots of shots and I was able to try several kinds of lighting. I only regret not actually shooting the sunset,  I was too busy talking to someone I hadn’t seen in a while and my back was toward the sun. (I think the last time I was him was before my model was born :O) Oh well, next time!

Aunt Kim’s Blanket

I wanted to get a (great) shot of Natasha sleeping bundled in this handmade blanket that I love. Our little session didn’t go as I had hoped.  For starters she was awake the entire time. LOL Also, lesson learned: I need an extra set of hands when photographing my own baby.  Here’s a few shots;

Love her smirk, but her hands are chopped off. Blanket should be covering the entire black background: 

 

Not bad, but the out of focus hand in the front is distracting and not my favourite lighting:

Thank You & Announcement Cards

I’ve been meaning to share the original images from ‘card’ shoot we did for awhile now. Natasha was 9 days old here. I received many compliments, especially on the Thank you cards we sent out. So many of the gift bags were just so nice (as were the gifts!), I wanted to somehow incorporate them into a card. My original card idea was something like ‘thanks for the gift, it was great, but the best one was from God’ LOL, but that is just a given, so I kept it simple and just ‘watermarked’ the image on the inside and wrote personal notes over top. I couldn’t bear to write on her head on the inside of any of the cards I wrote.

I should mention the fabulous LISA REICHMAN for her great design help. The front of the Thank You card is based on one of her announcement templates that I love.

June starts with a Splash

This past weekend had cool temperatures, some rain, overcast skies, far from ideal swim conditions.  This didn’t stop my scrawny handsome son from being the first in the pool for the 3rd year in a row.  

No surprise - Natasha loves the water too. 4 out 4 Regnerus children love the water and would recommend it.
