Mini Missionary

Posted on November 10, 2009

These proud new parents are Missionaries in Nigeria. They came back to Grimsby to have their son. We used a traditional ‘Nigerian Yam Pot’ for a few of our images and while I think that’s pretty cool, my favourite is the first image; no big props, no hat, just a beautiful little 6 day old face……

A New Son

Posted on November 8, 2009

It’s  wonderful to have my friends refer me to their friends and colleagues -that’s how I met this family. Such adorable boys and nice parents! I am finding many wonderful uses for my new wide angle lens lately too; love the shot of big brothers room with the fireman toys and decor (guess what Dad does?).

On an other note, I am almost caught up. Lots of blog posts this week to follow……

Growing up

Posted on November 5, 2009

I’m sure most photographers will tell you how much we enjoy seeing clients again, especially little ones. I would have never matched this baby to her newborn picture, how she’s grown and changed! I also thought the resemblance to her brother was really remarkable. Makes me wonder if a third sibling would also be as identical! ;)

I love my new wide angle lens. It’s terrific for ‘lifestyle’ sessions and interior shots….

Remember these two?

Well they’re almost One now! Seeing how babies grow and change in the first year never gets old to me; it’s simply amazing. You can really see hints of their personality in the images too.

Triplets!

Posted on October 12, 2009

So much fun to go back and see the triplets that I shot as newborns earlier this year. How they’ve grown! The triplet brothers are absolutely identical, while their sister is quite a bit lighter, much more mobile and more temperamental – atta girl! :)    Without further ado I present the Triplets at 9 months….

Seven Days

Posted on October 2, 2009

I really enjoyed shooting baby L and his family. I really appreciated how mom booked me in advance and phoned me when the baby was a day old and has already placed her order. (Thanks guys! Great session)

Babies don’t get any happier then this guy! The smiles were endless, making my task so effortless. I also love the family shots, plenty of pride and joy beaming from his parents!

One Happy Boy!

Posted on July 8, 2009

I have never had a newborn smile more! Just adorable. Here is ‘J’, 12 days fresh. He has 2 older brothers who are equally as handsome. I am booked solid through till the end of August, but I could not resist a newborn, plus this guy comes into this world to a very special mom :) .  I’m glad we were able to work in this session and that we were able to get so many images of this precious guy!

10x20b

8x12b            To the outside world, we all grow old.   But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were/ We know each other’s hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We outside the touch of time.  Carla Ortega
