Contemporary Portrait Photography
It’s seems like a long time since I’ve spent some time with a newborn. Although I loved being outdoors and doing so many fall sessions these last few months, it was wonderful to be back inside and hold such a fresh new baby again. This handsome newborn boy is adored by Mom and Dad and a big sister who is almost two (and terribly cute). It was a pleasure to meet this family and to chat with mom during our session (probably too much lol). I certainly love what I do…

I still clearly remember getting an email from this client telling me she was pregnant – I had only just shot her 1 year twin boys! (See that great session here). I’m sure this new sister won’t be much more work for these parents if my time with her is any indication; this baby girl was the EASIEST NEWBORN I EVER SHOT. I loved every minute spent with her – total doll. So many wonderful images – I couldn’t even decide what to use for the birth announcements…………..
7 days fresh! He is positively angelic and his big brother seems quite pleased to with this new addition to the family. We were able to get plenty of images of him sleeping for the birth announcement – in fact I know I can’t decide which I like best!

I spent a lovely afternoon catching up with this mom and shooting her new little man (on Day 11). He was 9lbs 15oz at birth and easily filled out my hats and diaper covers. It was great to meet him and see the family again. Be sure to click here to visit their last session, because its always cool to see how kids grow

What a beautiful baby! She was the perfect model for my new hat from Irma at Prairie Blossom Boutique on Etsy. I had a nice long visit with these first time parents. They are positively over the moon with their new daughter.

I have never met a newborn I didn’t like – however there are newborns who don’t like me I’ve been around for awhile though and I know that I can outlast a newborn – eventually they will sleep!
Totally worth it eh?
What a very easy newborn for me to shoot! He’s 12 days old and this was the 2nd shot out of my camera….
but he wasn’t done with the smiles,
I think I will make him my newborn spokesmodel.

I was right 7 pounds and one ounce of newborn perfection. Don’t let this sweet face fool you though, she only gave me 10 minutes of sleep! Fortunately it was enough for a pose or too. The rest of our time together she was awake and VERY alert. Here are a few of the moments we captured on Day 7……
