Isabella – 10 days

When I saw a message in my inbox from Isabella’s mom, I thought we’d be booking a 1 year session for her daughter whom I shot as a newborn last year. Imagine my surprise to see a request for another newborn session 13.5 months after our first newborn session! It was a pleasure to see mom and dad again and Isabella’s big sister! She has grown into a very cute dark eyed, curly haired little toddler. Both girls are adorable and it was great to capture this special time in this family’s life.

Congratulations again M&B! Your girls are beautiful and I enjoyed my time with you all.

Girls Night Out

My daughter Amanda was invited by friends to join them for their school banquet. The weather was COLD, incredibly windy and honestly – just not good for a photo shoot! We managed a few shots (and warmed up in the van in between) and I’m glad they turned out so well.

Thanks for being such troopers girls and good balancing on those heels Amanda xx

Winter Horseback riding

When I received an email asking if I would do a photoshoot of winter horseback riding, I was all over the idea. Horses are powerful, majestic and beautiful, I knew it would be a pleasure to shoot this!

So here you have it, a girl and her horse and a girl with her camera in a distant, ~~(unbelievably deep)~~ snow covered pasture doing what they love on a stunning winter day…

Meet the Pot Family – Celebrating Life Session

I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing the Pots in July. I knew of the Pots since we run in some mutual circles, so it was great to finally be able to meet up with them and learn more about their situation and meet their daughters. I could write about their challenges but instead I’ll cut and paste from the Pot family blog:

We are parents of four beautiful daughters: Emily, Sophia, Rachel and Janneke. Though we celebrate the development and gifts of all our girls, Rachel and Janneke were born with an unspecified syndrome that is under investigation. This syndrome affects their ability to eat, move, and meet “normal” milestones. Rachel and Janneke are exclusively g-tube fed, significantly developmentally delayed, and have portacaths for vein access. Our day is dictated by a schedule that starts at 6 A.M. and ends just before 11 P.M. Feeds, hydrating flushes, physio therapy, medications – and of course, quality family time- fill the time. We are so thankful for our nursing care and the respite workers!

Janneke (16ish months) is mesmerized by her hands.

Sarah mentioned that in sign language, both girls hands are permanently fixed in the “I love you” phrase.

My Anniversary Dinner

We celebrated our wedding anniversary last month . It was an amazing event, we had a personal chef from The Heat is On Catering come to our home and cook for us and two other couples (who are wonderful friends).

James came to our house, brought cutlery and plates – The only thing I had to do was provide the linens and the wine, he cooked the meal while we relaxed out on the deck.

The menu was fantastic.

Starters:
Chicken or Vegetable spring rolls with sweet & sour dipping sauce
Feta Bruschetta

Salads
Oriental salad of mixed greens, nappa cabbage, carrots, bamboo shoots, cucumber, tomatoes and crisp egg noodles tossed in sesame dressing

Diamond Dinner Entrées Menu
Grilled Beef Tenderloin
Smoked Tomato Relish
Rosemary roasted Potatoes and Chevre Cream Sauce

The evening was fantastic! Great food and company and the best part was that I got to spend it relaxing and enjoying the company of our guests. A highly recommended experience!

A New Son

It’s wonderful to have my friends refer me to their friends and colleagues -that’s how I met this family. Such adorable boys and nice parents! I am finding many wonderful uses for my new wide angle lens lately too; love the shot of big brothers room with the fireman toys and decor (guess what Dad does?).

On an other note, I am almost caught up. Lots of blog posts this week to follow……
