She’s 4 months!

Natasha was 4 months old on Sunday, so we had a little photo session. I love this one! More to come. I know, I said that last month when she was 3 months and I haven’t shared those yet either.  I am still working my way through sessions including a newborn from the weekend… stay tuned!

Aunt Kim’s Blanket

I wanted to get a (great) shot of Natasha sleeping bundled in this handmade blanket that I love. Our little session didn’t go as I had hoped.  For starters she was awake the entire time. LOL Also, lesson learned: I need an extra set of hands when photographing my own baby.  Here’s a few shots;

Love her smirk, but her hands are chopped off. Blanket should be covering the entire black background:

Thank You & Announcement Cards

I’ve been meaning to share the original images from ‘card’ shoot we did for awhile now. Natasha was 9 days old here. I received many compliments, especially on the Thank you cards we sent out. So many of the gift bags were just so nice (as were the gifts!), I wanted to somehow incorporate them into a card. My original card idea was something like ‘thanks for the gift, it was great, but the best one was from God’ LOL, but that is just a given, so I kept it simple and just ‘watermarked’ the image on the inside and wrote personal notes over top. I couldn’t bear to write on her head on the inside of any of the cards I wrote.

I should mention the fabulous LISA REICHMAN for her great design help. The front of the Thank You card is based on one of her announcement templates that I love.

I’ve been feeling really out of practice (being on maternity leave), but luckily my kids don’t mind letting me shoot them plus it was Mother’s Day and you HAVE to do what your mother says on Mother’s Day .

We had a family meeting. We tried to narrow down the amount of pictures of her to post, I mean really… it’s pretty much the same set up in each shot. But look at that face! Such a doll! We couldn’t decide.

I know how very fortunate I am as a mother/photographer because my kids genuinely don’t mind being photographed. Look how great the kids are! I only wish I had noticed that someone’s diaper wasn’t really on correctly. UGH.  I’m quite proud of this bunch. I bet Natasha will love these photos when she’s older. (I know I’ll probably love them even more when I’m older too. LOL)

Quin’s grin and random shots

I am slowly getting caught up on the editing and printing of Natasha’s first weeks. Here are a few more random images from the end of March.

Here (sleepy) Quin first meets Natasha. He wanted a brother so we worried what he might think when he walked in and we told him the baby was a girl. All he did though was grin….

and here I caught him grinning some more….

Looks like Natasha has her big brother wrapped around her finger already - the grins are positively endless…..

The First Day(s)

Natasha is 4 weeks old already! Here are some photos from her birthday and a visit from the Midwife at my home when she was 3 days old. This ‘hanging feet’ shot is how the Midwives weigh the baby. It’s also how the Storks bring babies but that must have been in the old days because I CLEARLY recall how how this baby arrived….
