It’s been a long time since I’ve posted to the blog. Bad blogger.  I’ve spent the last few weeks not only shooting but working behind the scenes. This blog has received a facelift along with my website. Last December I began a new website design and I finally put the finishing touches on my galleries last month. The challenge was not so much in finding portraits from sessions that I love, but in deciding how to present the images. I finally decided to have simple ‘galleries’ that showcased  a variety of images. My wedding galleries have been categorized differently; by the couples names…. but instead of reading about it, I’d love for you to visit the website and see for yourself. www.photographybyelma.com

Back to PINECLIFF for another week of great times. Aside from a day or two of less then great weather, it was awesome – and NO HUMIDITY (unlike the heat wave Niagara has been having). The kids had lots of beach time, tubing and of course campfires every night. It just wouldn’t have been as wonderful without our good friends there to share in the fun. Natasha loved it all, especially the swings and driving the boat. Pinecliff is always an awesome memory!

I spent the first weekend of June in beautiful Banff, Alberta. I met up with a bunch of my online photography friends for some shooting, eating, laughing, learning, hiking etc etc

I was in AWE of the majestic mountains and view. The first few images are from our Friday afternoon hike. (We took the difficult trail which I am sure is only meant for Mongolian Sherpa’s and experienced rock climbers who can affix themselves to the cliff with gear instead of prayers – although prayer did work)

I’ve been wanting to learn HDR for my images so I played a little with these. I tried to bring out as much detail as possible with Photoshop for these images. Honestly though, no camera, no lens, and no photoshopping  can ever really properly justify the views!

And the following images are from our Hotel, the Rimrock. Spectacular views!

Things may look like they have been quiet around here, but behind the scenes there has been a buzz of activity. I finally had an opportunity to redo and update the galleries on my WEBSITE. If you haven’t seen my galleries recently, make sure you visit. Some of the best looking people in Niagara/Halton are in there!   In addition, I have expanded on another area of my website, my commercial work. For 2010 I’ve challenged myself to do a small number of weddings. In the past I’ve always referred Wedding requests to other photographers, but my experiences with weddings last year was so wonderful, I want to do it again! I really enjoyed the time off during the holidays and taking the time in January to complete some projects that have been waiting far too long but now I’m ready and very excited about my upcoming sessions and getting back into shooting! Newborns, families, a winter wedding and even a maternity are booked in the next few months.  I’m excited for what 2010 holds………..
