I went to Quebec City in June and I LOVED it. The weather was fantastic, the hotel was amazing, the sites were interesting and I couldn’t get enough of the company I was with! HA. My company for the trip was the grade 12 class of Smithville Christian High School along with two terrific teachers. This is the grade 12 classes year end trip before graduation. I can’t think of a better way to end Highschool then with a trip like this.
Our days were FILLED with tours and sites. Of course we were at The CItadelle, The Plains of Abraham and the Museum of Civilization. All were interesting , but the highlight for me was the Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre Basilcia (church). I needed my tripod, a few more of my lenses and about another 6 hours in there. The architecture, workmanship and detail just blew me away. Also enjoyable was the Sugar Shack where we dined one evening. Pouring maple syrup over my entire dinner was a new experience and a great idea as far as I was concerned. Dessert was more yummy maple syrup on a stick.. (Notably more of a winter experience but frankly quite enjoyable for me in June). Other highlights included a boat cruise in the evening and shopping in Old Quebec.
As for planking… well I’m told it’s old news in some places, but it was new to me. You lie facedown, arms on your side, straight as a board on random objects or in odd places. Points for creativity. Google it, it’s happening all over the world…….
