Many of you will recognize my friend (and 2nd shooter at weddings). Christina works tirelessly with me all year long just so I can shoot her annual family photo. It’s not easy to ‘out do’ the prior years photos, but this year we had some really exceptional golden light. Love how these turned out. Which one should she blow up as a big canvas?

Mom wasn’t the only one who had a hard time picking favourites from this session – I could not decide which to blog! We had a great location, superb weather plus everyone looked great and they all managed to laugh at my jokes. Ha. We did have fun and mom now has lots of wonderful portraits to hang in the new home…..

I love the outdoors and I REALLY loved this apple orchard! So cool and outdoorsy LOL!! These two monkeys were just terrific and made for wonderful subjects in our fabulous location.

Balls falls was a wonderful backdrop for our family session. This past September meant both kids would be in University and far from home. A new stage of life for Mom and Dad! It was a great idea to get family portraits before they left…

She’s a sweetheart, I can tell. Her parents have fallen completely head over heels in love with her. I could tell that too. Here’s the proof;

Congratulations N&M on your the birth of your beautiful daughter. It was a pleasure to meet her and shoot another memorable milestone in your lives.

At the end of May, I started a project with a special family. I really looked forward to this because it challenged my skills as a photographer (plus I just like these people). I love taking portraits of people at their best, in great moments, but this project required me to put that aside and just focus on the day to day reality of this family – to be more of a photojournalist instead of a portrait photographer.
It may be difficult for you to imagine that the following images are taken of one family over the course of a single day. These are normal procedures, nearly every day occurrences.
Imagine rinsing and cleaning syringes everyday, your child’s bedroom closet storing medical supplies, casting your child’s feet every week, bedroom shelves full of more medicinal supplies, 4 pages of emergency notes, rigid scheduled daily routines, and not one but two wheelchairs (and as many walkers and assorted equipment), nurses and respite workers in and out everyday, medicating your children daily, feeding them by g-tube daily, and much more…
This is the reality for this family of six from St. Catharines, Ontario. More images and story later this week.

I spent a really wonderful evening a few weeks ago at the School of Horticulture in Niagara Falls. There was some beautiful light and many wonderful spots to capture some great shots. I got the low down on the all the September wedding details during our session for this couple. They are so excited and so am I. It is going to be wonderfilled!

I had a wonderful commercial photography shoot at The Watering Can last week (I’ll blog on that later). If you live in the area, chances are pretty good that you have been to the Watering Can (if not, go now!). The Watering Can is well known for their floral bouquets and arrangements in addition to the wonderful garden centre. After my day of shooting, I took a few moments to really enjoy all that the garden centre has to offer. It’s finally really starting to look (and feel) like Spring here…..

I had the wonderful pleasure of seeing Smithville Christian High Schools play this year entitled; Death and Taxes. A murder mystery wrapped in comedy – right up my alley (read every Nancy Drew book I could get my hands on – twice!). I’m always impressed by the amount of commitment the students are willing to give to this major undertaking. Practices began in December of last year and ran twice a week after school. This kind of hard work and dedication truly paid off with brilliant performances by all (casting of characters was perfect)!
Thank you kids talented Actors for this great entertainment. God has really blessed each of you with a wonderful gift! (I’m also also referring to Mr. P and Mr. G too!)

why yes! That’s my daughter with the curly hair and black jacket. She did a wonderful job and we’re very proud. WTG Marita!
